We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Litigation Paralegal to join one of the Top 100 firms in the US at their Los Angeles office.
This role involves providing high-level, complex support to legal teams in managing litigation cases, with a focus on healthcare, medical malpractice, and personal injury matters.
Responsibilities:
- Summarize medical records for intricate medical malpractice and personal injury cases.
- Conduct research and assessments of expert witnesses.
- Utilize various software tools, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and document management systems, to support case management and discovery.
- Assist with document production, including privilege reviews, redactions, and creating privilege/redaction logs.
- Perform investigative tasks, such as locating witnesses and compiling relevant legal or case information.
- Analyze documents, data, and depositions as needed for case preparation.
- Support depositions by coordinating logistics and preparing necessary materials for attorneys and expert witnesses.
- Assist in the preparation of motions, briefs, and filings, ensuring accuracy in proofreading and cite-checking (as applicable).
- Provide trial preparation support, including organizing exhibits, witness binders, deposition designations, and electronic presentations.
- Handle all aspects of subpoenas, from requesting records to following up with facilities and summarizing obtained records.
- Familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is highly desirable.
- Perform other paralegal responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate required.
- Relevant paralegal experience in healthcare litigation.
